Yesterday I travelled down to London and met my eldest daughter, after going to her flat and work we went out for lunch at Ottolenghi. Which was a taste sensation, the salads were heavenly. The desserts looked like artwork, but not having a sweet tooth I did not try any. Then we went to buy my balalaika. Isn't it beautiful? The shape alone holds me in awe, let alone the sound.
As I travelled home on the train the first full moon of 2014 watched over me as I held the balalaika on my lap. I am now a very proud owner and as I am only learning I can't really do it justice yet, but time will tell.
